Single ply Milo from Manos del Uruguay is a gorgeous blend of wool and linen in a DK weight. Milo offers a unique, elegant-but-rustic quality in the finished fabric, and also provides excellent drape.

Hand-dyed yarns have subtle variations in colors that are natural and may vary from skein to skein.  There may be differences between pictures shown and the yarn you receive. To ensure the best results for your project:

  • Buy enough yarn for your entire project at one time.
  • When using hand-dyed yarn in your project work two rows from one skein and two rows from another skein to give an overall blended effect.

If you have any concerns about your hand-dyed yarn, please contact Customer Service for assistance in returning or exchanging your yarn.

I left a review before but I just wanted to give an update since I finished knitting a cowl in the Manchester color. Not too itchy and it's warm. It knits up nice, the yarn drapes a little too much for my liking, but maybe I just stretched it too much during the blocking process? anyway, I love how it turned out. Can't wait to make another one that's similar to this in the Venezia color!

Pilled Immediately - Disappointing

This yarn was really disappointing. As I was knitting my sweater it began to pill. By the second wearing the entire front was pilled. It's now relegated to a house sweater. :(

Comments about MANOS DEL URUGUAY Milo:

I am making Jo Jo Locatelli's Granito out of this yarn in Baltico and really like the feel, sheen, color and the drape. It is a joy to knit with.

soft and lovely.

Comments about MANOS DEL URUGUAY Milo:

this a lovely light, soft yarn with subtle pretty drape.

the one slight quibble I have is the really very long unspun strands of linen that hang out - they either need to be snipped or wound around a strand so that you don't have 3-5" long bits hanging off of your knitting. but again, super slight quibble - the knit fabric is awesome.

Lovely to work with

Comments about MANOS DEL URUGUAY Milo:

I have just started my project so I can't speak to drape or finished product, but I do like very much how it feels to work with and the gentle sheen. I ordered the colour "natural" which looked whitish/grayish in the photo, but it was very beige in reality. I just don't do beige so I dyed it a lovely deep blue. The dye took beautifully.

Comments about MANOS DEL URUGUAY Milo:

I bought this yarn in many colors and I'm very impressed with them. They are very soft, feels similar to alpaca but not quite as squishy feeling. My only two complaints are that one, it is very thin yarn that feels more like a sport weight than DK, and second, the Manchester color is not very accurate to the picture. The picture (as seen on my iPhone) shows a deep charcoal color, almost black but not quite. But in person it's more of a medium gray and has a very slight sheen to it. But I bought the yarn in conifera, natural, Roma, tundra, and venezia and the colors were in my opinion, true to the picture. rich colors and overall beautiful yarn!

Comments about MANOS DEL URUGUAY Milo:

Just received this yarn in the mail in the Manchester color. I love that it's softer than I expected! However, I do not feel as if the color in person is accurate to the picture. In the picture, it looks like a deep charcoal, almost black kind of color, but in person it's just a medium grey with some sheen to it. It's also way too thin in my opinion to be DK weight, more like sport weight. Considering returning it for a different color but I still like it and think the yarn is wonderful!
