Winterlude was designed and knit for the 2010 Winter Knitting Olympics. Worked from the bottom up with increases on each edge this triangular shape lace shawl incorporates BOTH lace and cables on a ribbed base. As with all Nelkin Designs patterns, instructions are both charted and written out. The “really cool loopy i-cord” edging devised for this piece can be worked with, or without, beads.
Finished Measurements: 60" across top and 24" deep, after blocking
Yarn Requirements: Approx. 700yds fingering weight yarn
Needles: US 7 (4.5mm) 32” circular and 2 DPNs
Beads: 480 Color A Size 8 glass seed beads; approx 12 grams (optional), 240 Color B Size 8 glass seed beads; approx 6 grams (optional)
Gauge: 23 sts and 28 rows = 4" in stockinette, before blocking
