A fabulous yarn for a simple knit sweater. Just use stockinette for your main stitch as patterns would not show. The coloration and dying are outstandingly beautiful. After you wear it several times the angora blooms and creates a fabric in which the stitches almost disappear. The end result is a show stopper garment.

I ordered the beautiful lavender color of this yarn and when it arrived I was so disappointed. It turns out that the color pictured is not the real color. There is a small amount of lavender tones in this yarn but it is mostly PINK. The pink does not show up in the website photo. If it did I would not have ordered this color. It is unfortunate that ordering yarn online often results in colors that are different than shown.

Beautiful color and texture; pain to work with

Cons

  • Sheds
  • Twists Up

Best Uses

Comments about "" Nadeshiko:

Twisted right out of skein. Have to untwist by putting rubber band around ball, letting it hang, and letting it spin. Be careful not to untwist too much, or yarn will break off. Usually a knot or two in a skein, but they don't seem to try to match the yarns when they knot them. I take the knots out, find a better match, and knit six stitches together, rather than knot.

    Comments about "" Nadeshiko:

I'm making the Great Lengths Coat from Knits to Fit and Flatter by Jane Ellison with this yarn. I'm only half way through the back, but so far the yarn has been a delight to work with. It's soft, so feels lovely in the hands, and the colours are just gorgeous (shade number 29). Because of its thickness, the yarn provides gratification as instant as possible with knitting. This is a longish coat, but I think I'll be able to finish it in a couple of weeks (assuming my 1 year old doesn't have other plans for me). The only down sides are the fact that the yarn twists quite a lot, so I'm spending a bit of time untwisting as I go, and it sheds quite extravagantly. The shedding is a price I'm wiling to pay though (I knew what I was signing up for buying a yarn with angora content) as the softness more than makes up for the shedding. Overall, I'm thrilled with this yarn so far. Oh, and touch wood, I haven't found a single knot yet, something I've read Noro is notorious for.

      Comments about "" Nadeshiko:

Knitting a jacket in garter stitch. Yarn is sturdy enough for a jacket, while the look and feel is softened by the Angora. I think the weight and look will work well for a Winter and Early Spring garment. Easy work with and quick to knit.

          Comments about "" Nadeshiko:

I usually love the way Noro yarns look, but feel that they're difficult to use well or hard to work colors together, etc. I used this to knit the hoodie from the cover of the Webs catalog and am thrilled with the results. Soft, warm, fuzzy and no extreme color changes that make me pull the ball apart to find the matching color like usual with Noro yarns. I will probably buy another few skeins to make myself a hoodie as well.

            Comments about "" Nadeshiko:

I set out to knit a hooded cardigan according to NORO Magazine Fall 2012 #8. However I added 14cm to the length and knitted it firmly in one piece. The fabric came out steady and the stripes are very pretty. The collors hamonice nicely and are softened by the angora. Due to the firm knitting, the sice was smaller than planned, but I added the missing cm on the collar and the cardigan came out as a very warm, beautiful and light duffle coat, perfect for swedish winter conditions. If I was to do it again I'd pick a larger sice and add two cm to the hood. I will for sure use this yarn again. It will be difficult to find a better yarn.

            Service and delivery comments:

The delivery was fast. I made an additional order and customer service had the two orders processed and delivered togeather after I requested it.
