Noro Takeuma is a long-striping light worsted to DK weight in gorgeous muted tones. The wool/silk blend in Takeuma gives it that homespun yet sophisticated Noro feel, with some shine in the single ply twist. Takeuma would look great in lighter garments and accessories for transitional weather. Made in Japan.

Comments about "" Takeuma:

I love Web's --the service is always great and the delivery quick--would love to see more free patterns and suggestions on what to use the yarns for-I have been introduced to many manufacturers I would not ordinarily use because I trust Web's recommendations--

Comments about "" Takeuma:

I have purchased many skeins of Noro and have been pleased with all of them--I always check out the sales for the discontinued colors and the only problem with that is you may not be able to get more of the same number if you start getting short--the good thing about the sales is that this is the only way I can afford to buy Noro--at half the price it is wonderful!! Web's is the only on-line knitting site I ever order from--they have EVERYTHING you can want--Love Web's!!!

Pros

  • Earthy And Bright Stripes
  • Great color palate
  • Tweedy Look

Cons

  • Fiber Variation In Guage

Best Uses

  • Cape Or Coat
  • Sweater

Comments about "" Takeuma:

It is a beautiful yarn with both earthy and bright coloration which self stripes. I am making a tweedy, oversized sweater for my teen. I am also playing with both vertical striping on the arms and horizontal striping on the body. The only discordant issue whilst knitting is that the fiber diameter is extremely variable, so this needs to be taken into account for your project. I have had up to three garter stitch rows of extremely fine fiber diameter followed by a couple of rows of bulky diameter fiber. It gives an overall tweedy impression, so you have to really want that look when using this yarn.

        Comments about "" Takeuma:

I have long wanted to make a noro cardigan but it's usually quite pricey. I bought one colour way to use in to too yoke only in a top down cardigan, and enough of another colour way to make a whole sweater! It gas knit up beautifully and looks really spectacular. Get it while it's cheap! Takeuma us discontinued.

            Comments about "" Takeuma:

Nice one, though more subtle in color than most noro yarns - more browns, grey, neutral sections, which is good for certain projects.

            A Beautiful Yarn

            By

            from San Luis Obispo, CA

            Verified Buyer

            Comments about "" Takeuma:

I've knit a cardigan sweater and a scarf with this yarn. While it is a self-striping yarn, I used two colorways and knit a manually striped scarf that turned out unbelievably lovely. The yarn is soft to the touch and makes up into beautiful sweaters and scarves. It would make any knit item beautiful.

Since it is a "stretchy" yarn, knit items have to be blocked before being worn.
