Love this pattern. Have made three baby blankets using variegated yarn. The yarn does the work for you!

Comments about Gauge: 18sts = 4"" 2436 Mitered Square Baby Blanket:

Pattern is easy enough for a beginning knitter to follow and works up beautifully in variegated yarn. While I did not use the recommended yarn, the final product was so pretty. I added a simple crocheted border.

Comments about Gauge: 18sts = 4"" 2436 Mitered Square Baby Blanket:

I love how this pattern looks. However! - I believe it should state that the 'wrong side' of the product is a VERY wrong side. It appears to me that it needs to be lined/backed & that the item description should state such so that the buyer would know it before purchasing the pattern & all the yarn. I'm a fairly new knitter so maybe most would know this problem by just looking at the sample picture but I didn't & I'm sure there are others that wouldn't. The directions were difficult for me to follow initially also as far as joining the pieces goes. I did figure it out eventually but feel the pattern could have been written more clearly.

Comments about Gauge: 18sts = 4"" 2436 Mitered Square Baby Blanket:

This is an ingenious pattern for a baby blanket, made in mitred squares without seams, in multicoloured yarn, with a lace border sewn on. It does not require any particularly difficult knitting techniques, but the pattern is curt, and knitters with few projects under their belts, without on-line or in-person assistance may puzzle with gaps or questions that shouldn't occur in paid patterns.
