Plymouth Baby Alpaca Aire is true to its name! This soft chainette yarn is super airy and lofty-- it's a great worsted weight, and when knit with a  bigger size needle, the looped fibers puff up to create the fluffiest fabric. Baby Alpaca Aire is springy to knit; the chainette construction gives the alpaca more elasticity, so large projects won't stretch out. All that, plus glorious color in solids and heathers, and the sumptuous feel of 100% baby alpaca! Made in Peru

I am making a scarf with an Aran honeycomb pattern. Very nice stitch definition, but you have to pay attention because the yarn does tend to split (even 1 or two filaments' worth!), and that is a pain. I wouldn't have the patience to make a sweater with this. It is SO soft and seems as if it would be very warm, as per alpaca in general. Color is lighter than I thought it would be online.

Comments about "" Baby Alpaca Aire:

It was the deep color that first caught my eye, then I picked up the yarn and felt its softness. Amazingly soft. I couldn't put it down. So I bought one skein and knitted a scarf with it using big needles. So soft - it's like wearing a warm cloud. Not at all scratchy. This is softness at its finest. I've since bought lots of skeins in different colors - each color has its own charm and character. This is a beautiful yarn that is a sheer delight to work with. Two things to keep in mind: it does snag easily, and the color runs (but does not fade) on the first washing.

I am knitting it into an aran sweater and it looks fine. Might be better uses in a pattern with less fine detail

I enjoyed this yarn more than any other and I will be buying more of it. It is so easy to use, so quick to knit up and the product was perfect. Makes for an expensive-looking gift and it is affordable.
