This yarn is fun to play with. It has a lovely hand for a 75% acrylic and comes in a wide array of lovely color ways.
It is unevenly plied though, making the yarn range from a aran weight to an almost fingering weight. This may pose a problem with some projects. I love it for baby items, as it is fun to knit with, and washes easily with only minor pilling.

I bought the 2217 Black to make an afghan for a shut-in. The colours are bright and cheerful but the quality of the yarn is horrible. I cast on and knit one row. The pilling was the worst I've ever dealt with. My suspect is the blend along with the loose spin. I can't imagine what would happen to the finished product, if I ever managed to get that far, in the washing machine.

Beware of the yarn! You may experience an attack of the pills!!

    Jelli Beenz yarn running short

    By J

Comments about Plymouth Yarn Jelli Beenz:

I've been using this yarn for a number of years to make baby blankets and since Plymouth started selling Jelli Beenz in a larger skein, there's no consistency to how much yarn I'll actually receive. My knitting is pretty consistent and lately I've been running short. This last batch was so short (7 rows of 100 stitches each) that I have to order more yarn.

Comments about Plymouth Yarn Jelli Beenz:

I read a review about this yarn that spoke of the thread becoming extremely fine and I almost didn't buy it because of that review. But it was exactly what I was looking for so I took the gamble and I'm grateful I did. I have had zero instance of the thread becoming baby fine. I am happy I did not let that review deter me from my purchase.

Comments about Plymouth Yarn Jelli Beenz:

I used Jelli Beenz doubled to make a baby blanket. Wow . . . it came out great!I It was soft and it draped well. The colors were vibrant. I knitted a simple stockinette pattern stitch that made the colors pop. It worked up quickly. It's a great yarn to double because it is not chunky or heavy when finished. The new mom I gave it to LOVED it! She was thrilled to get it. I bought lots more to make more blankets. I have made loads of baby blankets and this is now my favorite yarn for future gift blankets.
