Too Fragile For Crochet

By Susan5737

from Clifton, NJ

Pros

    Cons

    • Dull Finish Not Strong

    Best Uses

This yarn is soft but separates very easily. It is not plied which makes it even more fragile. I had to rip out a row of crochet and the yarn pulled apart with very little effort. The company needs to rethink this blend. It is virtually useless.

      Worked well for me

      By Amy

      from Illinois

      Pros

      • Soft
      • Warm

      Cons

        Best Uses

I am surprised that other knitters had trouble with this yarn, the pullover I made with it turned out beautifully and the yardage was such that I have a lot left to make something else! Soft but not too warm, I like the fiber combo, instead of pulling apart I found I could join the next skein like I would with wool, instead of braiding was able to felt ends together.

          There are better yarns

          By Leezee

          from Chicago, IL

          Pros

            Cons

            • Poor Stitch Definition
            • Yarn Breaks Easily

            Best Uses

The yarn broke while I was casting on to swatch! I continued anyway, and the stitch definition is uneven (on a 6) and the fabric is mushy and flat. Queensland does a good job with some interesting yarns, but this blend needs to be retired.

              Unimpressed, disappointed

              By K Schippers

              from Oskaloosa, IA

              Pros

                Cons

                • Lots Of Knots
                • Not Ball Winder Friendly

                Best Uses

I haven't even begun to knit a swatch with this yarn and am already so frustrated with it that I had to hop on here and warn other buyers. The skein is only tied on one side so it is very tangly and makes working with a ball winder extremely tedious. Also, as I was winding, I discovered THREE knotted ends in ONE skein. Ridiculous!

                  Truly inferior

                  By Louthea

                  from Chico, CA

                  Pros

                  • Vivid color

                  Cons

                  • Weak Strand

                  Best Uses

                  • None Not Worth Knitting

While making my swatch, I noticed that only slight pressure on the yarn and it just pulls apart. It's not worth investing hours of knitting with this clearly inferior yarn.
