Comments about QUEENSLAND COLLECTION Rustic Merino Sport:

I used this for a baby poncho and beret. The mustard color had lovely tones, soft, easy to work with. I also bought the salmon and purple which have rich color.

Comments about QUEENSLAND COLLECTION Rustic Merino Sport:

Quite a nice yarn, which I got as an experiment. I'm knitting double-knit mittens, and the sale price made this a good choice. The color isn't what it looks like on the screen (salmon), but I expected that, and it's still fine. My biggest problem is that I was thinking the generous yardage of the hank would do for my project, but I wasn't thinking about it being DOUBLE knit, meaning one uses twice as much yarn of course. I'm learning...

Nice yarn, but...

Comments about QUEENSLAND COLLECTION Rustic Merino Sport:

I bought the charcoal color and it has more variegation than I thought it would. There are definite patches of dark (almost black) and lighter gray and it's making my sweater look a little blotchy. If I had it to do over I'd look for a more solid yarn. It seems a little scratchier once knitted than in the ball, too. However -- it's lovely to knit with. Feels like a good, high quality yarn, doesn't split, has a good amount of stretch.

There's something about good quality yarn. Nothing beats it

Comments about QUEENSLAND COLLECTION Rustic Merino Sport:

The merino will make its way into a cardigan as I found a pattern from 1945 that was rewritten using modern yarn and sizing, as well as pattern writing that is easy to understand for those of us who prefer the modern methods. Gonna be really cool!

Comments about QUEENSLAND COLLECTION Rustic Merino Sport:

This is the roughest merino wool I've ever felt. It must be the lowest quality of merino. But I'm 6 inches into a sweater and the stitch definition is nice, and the color is exactly what I was looking for. I ordered mustard and it is slightly darker and a little warmer color than pictured, but still in the mustard/gold family. Because of the lack of softness I would not buy this at full price, but on the plus side you do get a lot of yardage, in a superwash, and a nicely variegated color. Also, no knots in two skeins so far.

Lovely yarn but so many splices in each skein

Comments about QUEENSLAND COLLECTION Rustic Merino Sport:

I love the twist and feel of this yarn, but it was so frustrating. Each skein had no less than four splices of yarn joining. Twice there was less than two yards between splices. Just very frustrating.

I made a shawl with it, which blocked beautifully. The actual yarn color was darker and brighter than photo (for both colors ordered)
