Comments about "" 4-Ply Concerto Color:
Regia is my go-to yarn for durable, comfortable, soft socks in lovely colors and visual textures that wash up a charm and feel like hugs for your feet. I have prized the 4-ply Concerto color for, especially, gentlemen's officewear socks.
The product description says that this yarn is self-striping; it's not, it's more of a mottled effect. For me, working somber-colored socks can be visually exhausting. The mottling of Concerto provides visual relief without strong patterning that the wearer might dislike.
The mottling also provides visual interest. I am finishing a pair of crocheted socks for my father-in-law in the malachite color--2.25 mm steel lace hook, single crochet with lightly textured insteps, 3 + 2 cuff, add-on heel. I had expected this to be boring work requiring massive infusions of Monty Python or Kids in the Hall on DVD...but no!
As with all 4-ply Regia sock yarn, it works up feeling a bit "beady" to the touch, but then fulls and softens in the first few washings. I never machine dry any socks, but people tell me that this yarn performs great on low heat.
