Another nice Regia yarn!

Comments about 7.22 Mood Color 4-Ply:

I didn't have the problem with "stretching out" with this Regia line (I've used several colors).

I work socks in both crochet and knitting, the former are herkier for boot wear (hiking, field, muck, logging, equestrian--we do it all), the knitting for clogs, hiking sandals, beach slip ons, and other loose shoes. We're very active in the wet Pacific Northwest, so change socks often--mud, dust, puddles, seawater, you name it.

So my tip is, if you're working in knitting and plan to push your foot/sock into snug street shoes, work a closer fabric for Regia 4-ply sock yarns. Use a smaller needle and closer tension than you would normally. I prefer to crochet with a 2 to 2.25 mm lace hook.Single crochet makes a nice padded and long lasting sock. But I've seen German ladies knitting with a size 0 or 00 needle! Very tiny stitches indeed, quite beautiful. I use a 2 mm needle.

Then after completion and before wearing, invert the socks, hand wash, hang to dry, then tumble on air for awhile. Then throw in with a mixed load on warm (103 or less), tumble dry low. After a few wear/wash/dry cycles (as few as one, sometimes), the yarn will puff up nicely. From then on I air dry my handmade socks (hangers in our bedroom, where a dehumidifier runs in the evenings). And I always wash them inverted, but it's not as important for Regia as for some other yarns.

Disappointing sock yarn

Comments about 7.22 Mood Color 4-Ply:

The socks stretched out upon wearing and did not have any stretch resiliency after taking them off. I would not recommend this yarn for socks.
