Comments about 18.69 Fine Art Aran:

I bought this yarn to knit the Rowan Seedstitch Cowl, which calls for this yarn. I have knit about 3" so far, and at this point I can't imagine wearing this around my neck, because the yarn is scratchy and it has a strange, unpleasant odor. I can only hope that wet blocking the finished cowl in Eucalan will soften it up and remove the smell. The only redeeming feature I find in this yarn is the gradation of the colors; it knits up into an attractive, mottled fabric rather than stripy. I'm disappointed with this yarn, because I've always found Rowan yarns to be of excellent quality. In my opinion, this one falls short of the mark, especially considering the price.
