Not worth it, even on sale.

Comments about 6.19 Pure Linen:

I love Rowan yarns generally and their colors especially. So when this linen yarn went on sale, I bought an interesting taupe brown. (For camparison, I've knit skirts with 6 hanks of Euroflax ($$$$) and with 13 hanks of much less expensive Fiber Natura Flax. Both turned out well, with Euroflax edging out FN for its very polished appearance.) Any linen yarn will tear up your hands if you knit tightly as I do, but I couldn't even swatch this, I hated it so much. It's VERY hairy with loads of stray strands all over. It knits into a rustic looking stockinette fabric, but Fibra Natura does too, but w/much less strands and shedding. Just not up to Rowan's typical standard. This is no bargain. if I won't use it. If Euroflax is a strech budget-wise, try Fibra Natura Flax here. It's a bargain, and thicker and thinner than Euroflax, but you'll have a more pleasant time knitting with it, a good FO and save loads of $.

I guess I didn't realize linen was a little rough. Project did turn out nice though. Not sure I would buy linen again.

Lovely, natural yarn

Comments about 6.19 Pure Linen:

This yarn is wonderful for summer knits, lacy patterns. It knits up beautifully, and the colors are gorgeous. It is not a smooth yarn, but I like the more organic look, personally. I've knit with other linen yarns that split and were difficult to work with, but this one was very easy and fast. I bought my first skeins at closeout prices from a store that was closing, but I will happily pay the normal price to get more!

Comments about 6.19 Pure Linen:

I love linen, and purchased a skein to try out. I think highly of Rowan overall, but they have had some items that are poor quality (bamboo tape) and this one should never had been released. When I test knitted the swatch, I found that it shedded. When I washed it, the swatch continued to shed and the fabric looked awful. Don't waste your money with this yarn. Rowan, you can't win em all and I would pull this yarn.
