Broken yarn

Comments about SCHACHENMAYR Bravo Worsted:

I have just started knitting a vest with this yarn. As I was knitting along, I came to a frazzled end that I had to tie off in the middle of a row. I hadn't tugged on the yarn in the skein, so this wasn't something I had caused from pulling too hard. Several rows later, a strand of yarn about 1 foot long came out of the skein. I'm guessing that means I will find another frazzled end somewhere in the skein. I'm probably about halfway through the skein at this point and keep watching for the other end to appear.

This will be a very heavy garment. I'm hoping it will "relax" a bit when washed because it feels a little stiff now and it is not because my gauge is too tight.

So far so good!

Comments about SCHACHENMAYR Bravo Worsted:

I bought 5 skeins to knit myself a "kimono" cardigan. I have knitted through one skein and the yarn was just fine contrary to the other reviewers comments. I like the yarn myself. I bought lilac. I wanted washable for around the house wear rather than wool. The color is lovely (but out of stock now I see). Maybe the quality differs depending on the color? I'll see how the other skeins are but I can I LOVE the color. #8190

Comments about SCHACHENMAYR Bravo Worsted:

I was disappointed to learn that it was made by Coats, the same company that makes Red Heart. That should say it all. Its a cheap, worsted weight yarn and I'm glad I bought it at a deep discount. In my swatching of 6" x 24" I came across two sections that needed to be cut out. I am hoping all 4 skeins are not like that. I had purchased it to make a poncho, and I probably will use it to make one eventually. I won't be using it to make the one I planned because I can't get the drape the pattern needs.

Lots of broken threads

By

from Maryland

Comments about SCHACHENMAYR Bravo Worsted:

I ordered 24 skeins so that I could make a king size blanket for my brother. All of the skeins had broken threads in them. And not just 1. There were usually 3 to 4 in each skein. One of the reason I ordered this product was because there were a lot of yardage per skein. I wanted to have a minimal number of ends to weave into the blanket.
