I used this yarn for a baby blanket. It knit up fast and beautifully. I read the concerns about stretching and pilling so I was worried about machine washing. I used a no-rinse wash, soaked in the washer with no agitation, then spun dry. I dried it on "knit" in the dryer until barely damp, then reshaped and dried flat. It came out fine with very minimal stretching and no piling.

I hate this yarn so much! And it's sad, because I really wanted to love it. It's deliciously soft and pleasant while knitting, but it pills and sheds too much. The slouchy hat I was knitting with it already looked worn and old by the time I finished it, before even blocking it ( which I just skipped altogether for fear of the problem becoming even worse). I have had this hat for nearly a year now, and it is warm and soft against my skin, I'll admit. It's the only reason I kept it, since it had also stretched out to the point I have to constantly pull it out of my eyes.I would never use this yarn again, not for myself and definitely not for gifts. ayer all the work involved in knitting something up, having it look old and faded right away is just not ok, especially for a yarn that is kind of pricey for the tiny yardage you get.

Cons

  • Sheds

Comments about true Outer:

Since I made the items for gifts, I won't know for sure how it wears, but it did seem tender and prone to shedding. Since it was for a cowl and a balaclava for a small child, the softness was essential so whatever loss of durability comes with softness, I think it was the right choice.

I've bought this yarn in many colors over the past couple of years. It's great for baby blankets because it's soft and washable. A pleasure to knit with and well worth the price.

I used blue and white. Followed washing directions but the blue bled into the white. Would have expected better quality for such expensive material. I washed a few more times and put i the dryer with ok results. I've used Spud & Chloe yard before and have not had any problems. I would recommend the yard with caution

I used this to knit a cowl for my niece. The yarn is so soft, and knitted up quickly. I was very pleased with the finished product. My one minor complaint is that it sheds, but after washing the cowl once, that problem seems to have been fixed.
