Excellent Stitch Definition and Drape

Comments about SWANS ISLAND Fingering Discontinued Colors:

I have now used this yarn for three shawls, and I love it, to the extent that I will buy it again whenever I see it on sale. The only difficulty is in hand-winding this yarn, which tends to get very tangled towards the ends of the skeins, but I have never found a knot in the six skeins I have already wound. The colors are beautiful, with lovely variations in color intensity. The colors do rub off on the fingers while knitting, but they are easily washable, and the finished garments do not bleed onto clothing. Finished shawls are light and airy, warm in winter and comfortable in spring.

Lovely yarn

Comments about SWANS ISLAND Fingering Discontinued Colors:

I am using this yarn to make a shawl. The yarn is beautiful and has a wonderful feel and drape. The color is perfect. I am using a number of skeins for this project and each one is extremely different in color. Alternating skeins is a must. Even at that, the project is taking on a bit of a stripy look, but I would still use it again.

Comments about SWANS ISLAND Fingering Discontinued Colors:

I will use this yarn for shawls and scarves. Though I haven't actually used it yet, I have wound the balls. All yarn is even in consistency, and smooth, without a knot, twist, tie or other imperfection in the entire 525 yds. This is a high-quality yarn, worth the price.

Comments about SWANS ISLAND Fingering Discontinued Colors:

I used the beetroot color which is really gorgeous - especially after washing. I really like the subtle changes of color - not stripey. The only downside is the yarn bleeding all over my hands the entire way through the shawl. (It did wash off without a problem.)

Comments about SWANS ISLAND Fingering Discontinued Colors:

I'm making the Litchfield shawl, a stockinet stitch on size 7 needles, with Oatmeal (one of the colors that has 15% alpaca). It is wonderfully soft, and is exactly what I hoped for in the shawl. Although the skein has 525 yards, when I wound the skein into a ball, there were no knots, the yarn doesn't split, and stitches look nice & even. The color is perfect, and matches the photo on the website well. I got what I expected and am very pleased with the yarn. I'm not sure how it would be for socks (no nylon for strength), but they would certainly be soft and warm.

        Soft and well defined

        By

        from Singapore

Comments about SWANS ISLAND Fingering Discontinued Colors:

I used this yarn to make a shawl. I love the softness and yet not too squishy. The yarn is not splitty at all. The stitches are well defined and the resulting swatch is showing the cables and lace well. I only wish it has less of a halo. As I have not worn the shawl yet, I am not sure how good the yarn stands up to wear.

        Service and delivery comments:

Web always provides excellent customer service. Keep up with the good work.

The natural undyed colors are beautiful.
I'm using it double stranded to knit a blanket that will be similar to the woven blankets from Swans Island.
