Instead of ripples, think straight string with a little 1/4 inch blob, squashed flat, every 1 inch. The yarn does not move up and down (zig zag?) like the name Ripple suggests. Typical of mercerized cotton, it is string-like, not soft. Knitting on the tank top pattern I bought it for, has not yet started. Considering using another yarn that is thicker and softer. Ripple would be good in a mesh top, where the flat blobs could add interest in the "void" areas. This yarn is not what I expected, judging by the photo of the tank top that was knit in this yarn.

    Comments about true Ripple:

I made the Long Beach Poncho Top, designed by Teresa Chorzepa found in the Tahki Yarns spring/ summer collection 2016. It's light and airy, perfect for a cool summer evening. It's both casual and dressy as well as timeless. I plan on wearing this well into the fall and it will come right back out in the early spring. Every Tahki project I've made using their recommended yarn has exceeded my expectations.

The texture is the best thing about Ripple. It give great visual interest even in stockinette. And it is great to work with cotton in the summer rather than wool.
