Product Details

If you love knitting or crocheting with Arranmore from The Fibre Co. you will really enjoy Arranmore Light. This DK weight yarn is a splendid tweed blend of wool, cashmere, and silk. Inspired by the amazing scenery of Ireland’s Northern Headlands, Arranmore is spun in a mill that traces its roots to the homespun tweed industry of 19th century County Donegal. With a color palette remindful of the wild Irish coastlands, this yarn was produced for knitters that appreciate the best of luxury and tradition.

While there are dye lots listed for these yarns, there can be variances even within dye lots. We strongly recommend that you alternate skeins as you work to give an overall blended appearance.

I made a splendid shawl from this yarn. I knit it to a 19 stitches to 4 inches gauge and got a beautiful drape after blocking. The yarn has a rustic feel from the silk with a slightly slubby, thick/thin look. I'm now working on a pair of fingerless gloves worked with 2 strands held together to match the shawl and they are gorgeous! I'm a process knitter and I love the way the yarn feels in my hands. That's important to me. Thank you!
