Hereford is a classic crewneck cardigan with a fresh mix of retro and modern stylings. Contrasting color hems, buttonbands, and faux pocket trims add bright pops of color to this sweater and its slipped-stitch colorwork fronts are nicely balanced by the plain back and sleeves. Valley Yarns Westfield is a stunning blend of Merino wool, silk, and yak that has a beautiful sheen, extra warmth, and a smooth texture that makes it perfect for colorwork. The back and fronts of Hereford are knit flat from the bottom up and joined at the shoulder with a three-needle bind-off and seams at the sides. Sleeve stitches are picked up from around the armhole and worked in the round to the wrist. Slipped-stitch pattern is both charted and written out.
