Great yarn but I Swatched 3 times (yes 3times) for a sweater project to get correct gauge and after I thought it was correct, my sweater length grew by 2 to 3 inches in length after blocking! I'll know for future projects. Also, the navy color did bleed when washing in Eucalan so I had to be really careful as this project was colorwork!
The yarn is really soft, the stitch definition is amazing and knits up quickly(I use Karbonz) there is a soft shine that is nice also.

I used this yarn for a two color child's sweater. When I began blocking in the washing machine with cold water the two colors bled together. I was able to recover most, not all, of the original colors with oxegyn bleach. Very disappointing for a yarn labeled as machine washable and dryer safe....
That said the yarn was a pleasure to knit with, soft and strong with no or little splitting. The darker color knit more to a do weight, but I wa able to get gauge by adjusting needle sizes.

Comments about VALLEY YARNS Haydenville:

This is probably the worst knit pattern that I have used!! I ripped it up - never did that to a pattern before. I have been knitting since I as 10 years old. Now, I am an older woman and relax myself by sitting and knitting once a day.

Will be returning this yarn as it is not what I expected. I was looking for a more sturdy yarn for slippers. The colours are great.

Comments about VALLEY YARNS Haydenville:

I made a baby blanket with several dark and light colors - the yarn was a pleasure to knit with, soft and not at all scratchy and it washed (front loader) and dried beautifully, with no bleeding -the colors remained true and vibrant. I will be using this for many, many baby items.

Somewhat mixed reaction

Comments about VALLEY YARNS Haydenville:

I used this yarn in red to make a hood for my grandson, and it turned out beautifully - so soft, even against my wool-sensitive skin, with a nice drape. I decided to make another for my granddaughter in the natural color and the yarn is completely different, with no body or softness, like cotton string. The stitches don't plump out so there are holes all over the work. I bought it online so I didn't realize the difference until I was already knitting. I pulled it out and am starting over with a different yarn. Lesson: this can be lovely yarn, but feel before you buy!

Lovely yarn, but think carefully of how you'll use it.

Comments about VALLEY YARNS Haydenville:

The colors are gorgeous and the yarn has a lovely feel to it. Soft and cuddly. But that might also be a problem. Even as I'm still knitting the baby blanket, the yarn is pilling and splitting. Time will tell, but I don't have high hopes of this being a long lasting 'blanky'.
Stitch definition is good.

Not a true worsted but otherwise nice yarn

Comments about VALLEY YARNS Haydenville:

I bought this to knit a baby blanket. While the site says it is Worsted weight yarn, it definitely is not standard worsted, maybe a light worsted or DK weight. I could not swatch the correct size with 3 sizes of needles. That being said, I was able to manipulate the pattern, casting on 18 additional stitches to obtain the correct width for the pattern. The yarn itself was very easy to work with, smooth, did not unravel while knitting, no knots in the 4 skeins. The baby blanket, which had rows and rows of cables and braids and various patterns within it, knitted up beautifully with good stitch definition and I was very happy with the end result.

Great yarn. I don't usually buy acrylic but this blend is awesome. Great for items that will need to be washed more frequently. So soft and knitted up nicely.
