A spectacular blend of baby alpaca, merino wool, and a hint of nylon works beautifully in Valley Yarns Peru—a yarn with a chainette construction. The slightly heathered look adds interest to the final, finished fabric.

Fantastic for shawls and scarves

Comments about VALLEY YARNS Peru:

I made a triangular shawl out of this yarn, and I was very happy with it. It knits up fast, is very soft, and the shawl is light and warm. I'm not sure how well this would work for a sweater, but for accessories, it's great. It's true that the chainette construction is a bit more delicate than normal yarn, but I got used to it pretty quickly.

Comments about VALLEY YARNS Peru:

I'm not crazy about the chainette construction of the yarn, but it is soft and almost all alpaca at a reasonable price. I didn't like the inability to splice the yarn.

Comments about VALLEY YARNS Peru:

Soft and buttery feel when knitted. I am using it for the Vogue shawl that was recommended yarn. It looks and feels lovely. i would use it again. Would like a few more colors but am satisfied with the dark pine green that was available. The chain yarn doesn't split.

Soft

Comments about VALLEY YARNS Peru:

Lovely color. Amazingly soft. Liked it enough that I purchased a second time for a gift. Cons: 1) Tends to split. Could be my knitting proficiency. However, I frequently have small strands catching on new stitches. Merely annoying. 2) One skein wanted to unravel. Tied a knot in the end which I will cut before incorporation into my scarf. Overall - I'm "hooked".

Service and delivery comments:

Only service complaint: The items in my order went on "sale" two (2) days after my purchase. The savings could have funded additional purchases! A kind note advising me of the upcoming sale or a positive price adjustment policy would be most welcome.
