Totally blown away by this yarn. In my experience it is softer and a better quality than Jade Sapphire brand cashmere, generally considered the gold standard for cashmere yarn. This is a plumper yarn than similar weights from JS. This yarn is unbelievably soft, plump, squishy and it has a fantastic yardage for the price. With the lovely WEBS discount you could knit yourself a gorgeous cashmere sweater for under $200. Practically unheard of. I bought the color "fawn" and to me its a perfect camel color. I made a gorgeous simple hat from it that will be amazing this fall and winter. Contemplating getting 8-9 skeins for a sweater. Would make a stunning turtleneck.

Expensive but didn't feel like 100% cashmere

Very disappointed. Doesn't have the typical super soft feel you expect from 100% cashmere. It feels like an average medium soft wool.

Comments about VALLEY YARNS Pocumtuck:

I usually don't use black yarn when knitting because it's a challenge for my eyes, but I just couldn't resist this lovely cashmere yarn! I haven't use my Pocumtuck yet, but am so glad I purchased it. I'll be making a cardigan with it and I know that it will be stunning.

Love this yarn

Comments about VALLEY YARNS Pocumtuck:

I used one ball to make a classic black cashmere ribbed hat to replace a 10-year-old hat I lost last year, and one ball proved to be enough. Good yardage. Before washing, this yarn has a fairly firm feel, not quite soft enough for pure cashmere, and it works up with great stitch definition. But after washing, it becomes verrrry soft and luxurious. I am very happy with the result and am now wearing it every day (the true test of a new garment).

Comments about VALLEY YARNS Pocumtuck:

I LOVE this very reasonably priced yarn. I made single color cowl using 3 balls. This yarn is slightly heaver than dk. Has a wonderful stitch definition along with a soft feel. No itch. I will be purchasing different colors for Christmas gifts. I think its a great value.

Nice cashmere. I was able to knit an entire sweater for a fraction of what a cashmere sweater usually costs me to knit. the yarn is lovely and the stitches very distinct. Overall very happy

Comments about VALLEY YARNS Pocumtuck:

I chose this yarn for a summer accessory scarf crochet project and I was delighted with the weight and the incredible softness of the yarn. In addition, this yarn is easy to work with and does not twist or split. The low halo allows the stitch pattern to be the focal point and again is perfect for warm weather garments. The colors I chose were exactly what I wanted and I am very happy with my purchase. My only wish would be that the company have a bit more yardage per ball. I would buy this yarn again.

Comments about VALLEY YARNS Pocumtuck:

I made a mistake stitch rib scarf for my son and it was deliciously soft and warm to snuggle into! The only downside is that two out of three skeins had 3 to 4 knots each :-(

"cloudy sky" rather smoggy

By

from AZ

Comments about VALLEY YARNS Pocumtuck:

I know color varies from one monitor to another, but the "Cloudy Sky" color is much more taupe in person than I would have expected either from my monitor or from the name. Otherwise the yarn seems gorgeous, haven't used it yet.
