Nice soft yarn-beautiful hand, shows great stitch definition and available in many lovely colors. And like most of the Valley yarn line, very economically priced. I have only one gripe about this yarn. I found out by accident that it shrinks and will keep shrinking. And it felts too. I had a pair of socks go from a 11.5" long foot to a 7" long foot. I love this yarn for nice heavy cozy socks but will only use it AFTER I pre shrink the dickens out of it (boiling water-ice bath X5 shock) It's a great yarn but be careful washing the finished garment.

I submitted an earlier review of this yarn, but I am submitting another because my experience with the second ball was even worse than with the first. In the two balls, I encountered five knots, two broken plies, and one poorly spun section. In one hat, I now have 16 additional ends to weave in. Completely unacceptable.

I have used this yarn for hats and baby sweaters, but it would be great for anything except felting projects. It is very soft and dyed evenly. The color selection is extensive and lovely. Cannot say enough good things about this yarn. Also price is very reasonable.

Comments about Yarn > Knitting Yarn Valley Superwash:

This yarn gets softer after it's washed, but it grows so much. I washed my finished hat once, following the instructions, and ruined it. Because it rips out so nicely, I've salvaged most of the yarn and will be able to make something else.

Comments about Yarn > Knitting Yarn Valley Superwash:

This is a nice yarn to work with. It 100% wool, but not scratchy at all - it's nice and soft. The yarn comes in many lovely colors. I haven't washed it yet so I can't speak to that. I only wish that washing instructions were written on the yarn wrapper. I give away most of what I make and like to give washing instructions to the recipients.

Thought I would try this since it was shown as comparable to Cascade, but the yarn is much more coarse, and just doesn't have that feel to it.
