Product Details

Spiral: a curve which emanates from a central point, getting progressively farther away as it revolves around the point. VERSACIKNITS Spiral is a knitting pattern for a beautiful two-color slip-stitch op-art cowl that can be worn as a regular cowl or pulled up to become a hood. That's precisely what this slip-stitch pattern does to create a look that has no beginning or end in this beautiful cowl or hoodie. The technique used to create the fabric, slip-stitch knitting, is a lovely way to produce beautiful colorwork patterns while still working with only one yarn at a time. The Spiral Pattern purposefully varies the location of the slipped stitches to produce a combination of vertical, slanted, and curved lines. This creates the “optical illusion” reminiscent of the Op-Art movement from the 1960s. The slip stitch pattern is in chart form only.
