VERSACIKNITS Traverse is a toasty hat for cold days with a subtle, interesting pattern. It is knit in the round using raised slip-stitch; by working half the stitches in each row and then moving the graduation one stitch at a time, you create a beautiful herringbone effect. The knitted fabric is tight both horizontally and vertically, making a dense, warm garment. Traverse can be worn slouchy, or you can fold the broad, snug brim back to wear it as a fitted cap. The Traverse Herringbone stitch is charted and written out.

Sizes: One Size to fit an average woman’s head
Finished Measurements: 17½" rim (snug fit); 20" body; and 11" high
Yarn Requirements: Approximately 275 yards of worsted weight yarn such as Malabrigo Rios (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/210yds)
Needles: 
     US 8 (5.00mm)  DPNs
     US 10 (6.00mm) DPNs
Gauge: 20 sts and 54 rnds = 4” in Traverse Herringbone on US 10 (6.00mm), blocked.
