I bought this to make a pullover sweater that you wear over a tank so the fact that it's not the softest to me is not a problem, remember it is wool. I bought it for the beautiful colors. I have had a problem trying to go back and fix mistakes because the fibers get tangled in the stitches and don't want to release. It is washable, but I will hand wash the sweater I am making just because of the loose pattern stitches in it.

I have made several socks out of this yarn. Each time I say I will never do it again, but the colors are lovely. The pair I just finished will be my last though. So:
Pros: Lovely color transitions
Cons: Biggest - I found the repeat FINALLY by the heal of the second sock - there was not enough yarn to have made a matching pair of socks. I think I should have had the option of making a matched pair. In addition the yarn splits, and knots.

I now have 2 lovely socks made from the same yarn and pattern that do not look like a pair of socks.

Comments about Wisdom Yarns Poems Sock:

This is advertised as sock yarn, but I'm not sure why. It splits easily and is too think is places. The colors are lovely, but that's about it. I bought two skeins, started knitting with one and promptly stopped and returned the unused wool. Cut your losses from the get and don't buy this yarn.

Comments about Wisdom Yarns Poems Sock:

I knit socks all the time. I was very hopeful that this beautiful yarn would make lovely, serviceable socks. I didn't even get through the first part of the cuff before I was thoroughly dissatisfied with the yarn. The thick and thin nature of it will not give one the texture needed for socks. I am offering this yarn to a knitting friend because I don't want anything to do with it. The details for the product did not mention the thick and thin nature or I would never have bought it in the first place.

I love the color and the shades it goes through but, that's all I like about this yarn. I don't like the coarse fuzzy texture and it snags in the pattern I'm using for crochet half doubles.

Comments about Wisdom Yarns Poems Sock:

I bought this yarn because of the long color change to knit the Nymphalidea scarf. The scarf was my work project: I knit during break time. Note it WAS my work project. I got tired of spending my entire break time untangling instead of knitting. I took the mess home tonight and spent several hours untangling, spit-splicing and rewinding. Note to manufacturer: if you can't wind the yarn without tangling it: don't wind it before selling it.

This yarn is so beautiful! I bought the Spa Shades and Pulsar color and they look great as socks. I feel like the yarn was easy for me to work with, but it's a little coarse so sometimes it was hard to unravel if I made a mistake.
