*This class fulfills the Requirement for WEKP.
Let’s review a bit of stitch anatomy that we covered yesterday which is essential to a successful herringbone fabric. This is a sophisticated and luxurious fabric with a nice drape. Perfect for a stylish scarf or an elegant throw. And if time allows, we will give your fingers a break with a slightly easier stitch - Woven Rattan. As you can see, it’s just as gorgeous on the reverse side as it is on the front.
You will receive the Zoom link 1-2 business days before the virtual class.
Prerequisite:
Materials Required:
For the herringbone let’s use a chunky or heavy worsted yarn – something that gets about 15st over 4” in stockinette.
Preferably a tonal yarn – but a solid will do.
Avoid mutil colors here and nothing with added texture
Have needles that match the yarn band as well as 1 to 3 sizes larger than the yarn band suggests for your yarn.
And if time allows, we will give your fingers a break with a slightly easier stitch – Woven Rattan.
Any worsted weight yarn that gets 4st per inch in stockinette will work here.
Have needles ready that give
you a stockinette fabric you like (Yup, make a little swatch ahead of time to see) plus needles 1 and 2
sizes larger.
When possible, please buy your materials from WEBS.
