Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Bulky

Lamb's Pride Bulky from Brown Sheep is a classic single ply wool and mohair blend. It is great for projects of any kind and the mohair adds softness and a slight luster. This yarn is also great for felting!  Made in USA.

I only use this yarn for knitting and felting small clutch/tote bags, which I decorate with unusual buttons. This is the best felting wool I have ever used. The finished articles look absolutely fabulous. I am knitting them for a charity at my church and aim to knit 20 and am knitting the 10th at the moment. Every penny I make on these bags is going to the charity.
The varigated colours seem to be thicker especially the Lime Sorbet. Each bag uses one skein and I thought I wouldn't have enough yarn but there was just enough to sew bottom seam. Phew!!

good for bags, bad for clothes

This stuff is way too itchy to be worn next to your skin. Great for bags and such, however.

Comments about Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Bulky:

Using this yarn to make felted coin purses for Christmas presents. Sample worked up beatifully. This is a wonderful yarn for small projects in the car, or by the pool or beach because it is easy on the hands and works up quickly. Also, the yarn launders well if it gets soiled.

I love felting with this yarn! It knits up very quickly and the colors are great! Good Price when you buy lots, but for me unfortunately, Canadian taxes had to be paid upon receipt of the yarn. Still, with that considered, it was very well priced.

Comments about Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Bulky:

I'm using this yarn to make a dog sweater for a friend's dog. I'm a little concerned about it being a weed and seed collector, but she is very happy with the bright colors and the soft texture of the yarn. The sweater is a bright red, yellow and orange in stripes so no one will mistake the dog for a deer. It's knitted mostly in seed stitch and the yarn shows the stitch definition wonderfully (not that the dog will notice).

            Service and delivery comments:

Quick delivery and yarn arrived just as it should - perfect.

Comments about Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Bulky:

I'm doing some felting now and learned NOT TO MIX Bulky with Worsted. Even if the Worsted is doubled, not try to felt it with Bulky, it won't felt evenly.

And inspite of everything on the internet, don't put your wet felted materials in the dryer. They'll shrink/felt unevenly and it's not reversible.
