Get plenty of it out front: after all the yardage is exactly what you expect from such super bulky yarn. But what yarn! It is soooo soft, I don't have enough words to describe it. The blanket I made is now the family favorite, the silken cocoon with just right amount of weight is so tempting that it wound up being used even in the heart of the summer! I can't recommend it highly enough. It is fun and easy to knit, it has the most exceptional feel of any yarn I've ever used, a beautiful sheen, and even the colors are very much to my liking with lots of depth without being brash. The cable definition is just gorgeous. Actually, my son who generally doesn't care for my 'tinkerings', has taken it from me, and I miss it so much I've gotten more of the same yarn to make another for myself! If you're looking for yarn to make a quick gift out of and aren't sure about the recipient's wool tolerance, you'll be perfectly safe with Mirasol Sulka.

I love this yarn. It has everything I could ever want in a bulky yarn: soft, sturdy, lustrous, great colors and and a very even fabric; however -- HOWEVER --- I could not get a satisfactory 4 stitches to the inch on this yarn if I knitted it on toothpicks -- not anything I could actually wear anyway. It is a perfect 3 stitches to the inch yarn -- 3.5 if you are looking for a very structured garment. Again -- love this yarn. I knitted a Louise Harding sweater out of it and I love it. 12 stitches/16 rows to 4".

My sweater had cables and bobbles. At this gauge, the yarn shows patterns beautifully without bulking up into a something you will roast in.
