Yes, I know I ordered ""Seaweed"" but I wasn't expecting it to look so....seaweedy. Also the strands frayed easily. Made a beanie for an outdoorsy guy. He likes it.
Beautiful yarn. I am looking forward to working with it.
Knit this into a lightly cabled sweater. Love the drape and feel of the fabric, and how it blooms after blocking. The chainette construction makes for a very stretchy yarn. It was a little tricky to figure out tension at first, but I'm glad I kept knitting because the final garment was lovely.
Just offering additional info for those who are on the fence. Colors: lovely and intense, Texture: baby soft (too soft for me) and very stretchy - I had to use very large needles to get gauge.
Excellent yarn. I will make any project a one of a kind!
What delightfully soft, airy, and squishy yarn! I'm working with the cream and it is such a good colour. I know, you're thinking, ""hey, lady, it's cream, it's barely a colour"" but I always have trouble finding one that has a depth and range to be the perfect go-to sweater match for as many outfits as possible. Found it!
This is one of my favourite yarns. I've knit 2 sweaters and an afghan with this soft cozy yarn. I've just ordered enough for a 3rd sweater. It has a slight tweedy look and I really am very pleased with the colours. This is a beautiful yarn and probably my favourite yarn that I've knit with. I've knit for many years -starting in high school. When our daughters were young they had many cute sweaters and I used synthetic yarns. Now my favourite yarn has a mix of merino wool and alpaca. I live in Canada and a warm yarn makes a very necessary sweater to keep us warm. I think other people would like this yarn as much as I do.
Super soft and knit up great!!
I haven't started my project yet, but the plan is to make a sweater. The yarn is a chainette construction; it looks very light and durable. Also, it is very soft to the touch. I got the yarn in Seaweed -- a very unusual, varigated color. The only drawback is that it is only 137 yards/skein. I wish the yardage was a little more generous because I don't like splicing skeins together and working in all those ends when I finish the project. (That's one reason I use a lot of Cascade yarns for my projects -- generous-length skeins.) However, I would buy this again.
This is a wonderfully squishy, soft wool. I am nearly finished a sweater that I have made before with a less stretchy yarn. The current sweater is turning out very slightly smaller, likely due to the difference in stretch between this yarn and a normally plied yarn. I am still very pleased! Just be sure to do a gauge swatch for a big project, and buy extra yarn and/or knit with a looser tension if you're concerned.
