I just bought this about a month ago. i am a brand new spinner and found it quite easy to teach myself on. It works well for both fine and thick yarns.

The shipping was fast, but my spindle arrived with the dowel poking out of the box and could have gotten damaged.

This is my first ever spindle, and it works great! I like that I could try out both the high and the low whorl configurations. The 4" whorl has a nice, long spin, but it's a little too heavy for spinning very fine singles. All in all, I don't think I'll need another spindle for a looong while. I love this thing!

My materials came quickly, well packed, and clearly marked. I was excited to use this spindle which had all of the markings I had researched. The balance is good either as a top or bottom spindle, the hook is a great size and shape, notch is just right, wood is smooth, and the whorl is the perfect size for me. This spindle has been a joy to work with on my first venture out into the world of spinning. What an excellent find and a great value.

I bought this spindle because I was interested in beginning to spin yarn and I was not disappointed. I do wish that I had known what the different weights of the spindle meant. Ie. Finer yarns come from lighter spindles. All in all a great gateway spinning tool.
