Product Description
Simple and stylish, lacy but not fussy, this top-down semi-circularish shawl transitions from stocking stitch to lacy edging all in single rows. There are 2 sizes to choose from, a smaller shawlette & a more generous shawl. It can be worked in laceweight to sportweight yarns making it perfect for showing off your hand-dyed treasures.
The lace patterns are given in both written & charted forms. Step-by-step instructions show you how to get started with the slightly unconventional beginning – a variation of the garter tab start, recently also known as Åsa's Amazing Tab Cast On (with only a little tongue-in-cheek -- it is rather clever!)
Top photo: Large shawl knitted with 2 skeins of Faery Wings (grey)
2nd photo: A hybrid - small size but with the full lace repeats of the large size (knitted with 1 skein of Wollmeise 100%) (green)
Suggested substitute yarns are shown below.
