Breena Pattern Details

Skill Level: Experienced

Breena is a fitted garment with yoke construction, available in seven sizes to fit bust measurements of 30, 34, 38, 42, 46, 50, and 54 inches. The finished length is approximately 23 to 23½ inches depending on size.

Construction Technique: This design uses a center yoke and upper yoke construction method. The center yoke is worked first using larger needles, cast on with 24 stitches and worked following Chart A until the piece reaches the specified length, ending with a wrong-side row before binding off.

Yoke Shaping: The upper yoke is worked by picking up stitches along the moss stitch edge of the center yoke piece. Stitches are picked up on the right side using larger needles, ranging from 194 stitches for the smallest size to 356 stitches for the largest size. A purl row follows the pickup row. The yoke is then established in pattern, beginning with stockinette stitch edges (k1 on each side) and working a 27-stitch repeat chart 7 to 13 times depending on size. Strategic decreases are worked as indicated by the chart through rows 37 to 39, reducing the stitch count to fit the bust measurement. Final stitch counts after even spacing adjustments range from 82 to 114 stitches.
