Product Details

The Fibre Co. Deep Sea Dickie is a cozy accessory debuting with the Almanac Series III, and brings a special Soumak stitch technique that will be new to many and elevates the interest of the finished piece. Requiring less time and yarn than a sweater, a dickie can add nearly as much warmth with less bulk tucked into a winter coat or layered under a cardigan. The Deep Sea Dickie is worked flat in two pieces from the bottom up and joined at the shoulders with a three-needle bind-off before stitches are picked up around the neckline to knit the foldover turtleneck in the round. The front and back of this project feature wedges of Soumak stitch integrated in and created with wraps, turns, and doubled yarns creating the stunning texture (step by step instructions walk you through this technique). Choose a palette of colors of heathered, woolen-spun Lore and enjoy the cozy warmth of your finished Deep Sea Dickie as well as the depth and richness of the colors.
