I like using FlexiFlips because I get fewer "ladders" than with traditional double point needles. The down side is that they are exensive.

addi FlexiFlip Bamboo Needles allow you to cast-on to an effortless new method of knitting socks, cuffs, hats, and many of other projects which are worked in the round. These specially designed 3.75" tips with 2" cord (24cm) circulars rest comfortably in the hand and act as flexible double pointed needles. Easy to use, stitches are distributed over two needles and knit with the third, resulting in only two needle changes per round. You will always have the right needle when you need it. Overly versatile, FlexiFlip Bamboo also make great cable needles! FlexiFlips are available in sizes US 0 (2mm) to US 8 (5mm). Order your set today!

The Addi bamboo FlexiFlips are smooth, a great length and easier on my hands than the metal ones are. There were no ladder issues knitting in tge round! I call tgat a win.
