Almy Cabled Mittens

**Note: Only 1 size of needles/yarn needed: US Size 6 for worsted weight yarn, and US Size 5 for DK weight yarn.

From pattern:** These mittens are worked in the round from the bottom up. The backs of the mitten are adorned with a unique cabled motif.

EITHER worsted weight or DK weight yarn may be used; using worsted weight, the mittens should fit a ladies’ medium-large or mens’ small-medium hand, and using DK weight, the mittens should fit a ladies’ small hand.

The design for these mittens was originally commissioned by the Our Back 40 yarn company as the “Cabled City Mittens” (pattern available only as a kit with Our Back 40 yarn). The Almy Cabled Mittens and Cabled City Mittens patterns differ only in that non-cabled sections are knitted in the former, and purled in the latter.

Difficulty: Intermediate: skills included working in the round on double pointed needles, reading a chart, cable knitting, decreases, and picking up stitches.
