The pattern calls for 10 skeins. This is not enough to knit this jacket. Ask customer service at WEBS how many skeins they recommend for this pattern. I had to return the 10 I'd bought and get another set in the same color but different dye lot as the first dye lot was unavailable. I have bought 13 with the hope that that is enough.

Also, there is a discrepancy with the pattern. It says to knit the front until it is 24" or so what at the same time it says to end with row 28 of the pattern. You can't do both. I believe the design department is working on this.

This is an update to what I wrote earlier. This is quite the challenging pattern but it is a lovely one. There are 28 rows of lace pattern with two repeats. I had frogged this many times before I finally got the hang of it. For example once I realized that row ten's marker needed to be moved over one place it made things much easier. Also telling people to place markers would have been a big help as there are two repeats. Simply write after each section, place marker, then repeat the instructions again for people.
The challenges of the pattern could have been made easier had the author of it made a lot of notes about it for us. I find WEBS patterns generally to be incredibly short compared to what other designers do. They OVERWRITE their patterns so that anybody can follow them. My favorites amongst these are Elizabeth Smith and Carol Sunday. Their patterns are many pages long with information, suggestions and what to do next. If this designer had done that, this pattern would have been so easy to do.
Some design advice now. Ask others to read over the pattern. What suggestions do they have? What do they think you should alter? I once told someone to use bright colors with their designs as greys don't cut it. They refused because grey was their favorite color and the result was their pattern sales tanked just because people couldn't see the pattern at all. Yours shows up beautifully BTW.
Cloe is a lovely design as it is now revealing itself and my daughter will absolutely love it (have to admit I am making it in grey Weekender!) but the pattern could have been written better with lots more information. I am not a lace fan but my daughter loved this design so decided to give it a go. Had the pattern been a bit overkill in instructions, I would have frogged less and written a more positive review for it originally.
Would not recommend unless major changes done to this pattern to make it more user friendly.

Comments about VALLEY YARNS 772 Cloe Cardigan:

Love the pattern and the yarn and found it easy to kit. But the 10 skeins definitely not enough. I have used 6 already for just the two fronts and my tension seems correct so am going to have to order more yarn. Definitely not happy about this as I live in Canada and will have to pay more postage! This has made it much more expensive than I originally planned.

          Challenging and frustrating pattern

Comments about VALLEY YARNS 772 Cloe Cardigan:

I agree with many of the comments here about the pattern being very difficult. This is a 28 stitch pattern so there is no way one can memorize this pattern. What I did was copy the pattern several times and with my pencil underline/circle as I went through the two repeats. I am also one of those people who like to start right side rows with odd numbers and wrong side with even numbers also. I have frogged this pattern so many times I am almost ready to give up. This is also a not forgiving pattern in that if you make a mistake you may end up with several rows unravelled due to the nature of the pattern.

I normally make several of each pattern trying different yarns. Not sure if I will even make one with the way this one is going. May just end up giving up altogether.

A pretty sweater, but difficult to memorize the repetition. I'm an experienced knitter and had to force myself to finish at. Good if you want a challenge.
