Valley Yarns Patterns Errata
While we do our best to ensure the accuracy of our Valley Yarns knitting patterns and crochet patterns, the occasional error is inevitable. We apologize for any inconvenience. Below you will find a list of errata from our Valley Yarns patterns discovered since 2/26/2014.
Valley Yarns WEBS DIR05 Made To Border by Fiona Ellis
On pg 7, in the "front edge neatening" section: “bind off sts knitwise” has been replaced with:
Using dpns cast on 4 sts for I-cord.
Knit 1 row, slide sts to end of needle.
K3, slip rem st purlwise, knit 1 st from needle of picked-up sts, psso.
Cont in this way slipping last st of I-cord over a picked-up st every row until all picked up sts have been worked. Break off yarn and thread through the 4 I-cord sts to securePage 7, first column, second paragraph should read:

Rnd 52: Purl.
Rnds 53-54: Knit 2 rnds.
Rnd 55: *K3, k2tog; rep from *. 60 sts.
Rnds 56 and 57: Knit.
Rnd 58: *K2, k2tog; rep from *. 45 sts.
Rnds 59 and 60: Knit.
Rnd 61: *K1, k2tog; rep from *. 30 sts.
Rnds 62 and 63: Knit. (Stuff the body at this point)
Rnd 64: *K2tog; rep from *. 15 sts.

There was a mistake in listing the Yarn Requirements. The Yarn Requirements should now read:

Valley Yarns 602 Cremini Baby Cardigan
There were some errors mis-stating RS versus WS in some of the instructions.
The lower body instructions should now read:
Repeat Rows 4 and 5 until lower body measures 6 (7, 8, 9)” from cast on edge or desired length to underarm, ending with a WS row.
Next row (RS): K10 (12, 14, 16) right front sts, bind off 4 sts for underarm, k25 (29, 33, 37) back sts, bind off 4 sts for underarm, k10 (12, 14, 16) left front sts.
Yoke instructions should now read:
Return to the lower body sts.
Row 1 (WS): P across left front sts, PM, p across left sleeve sts, PM, p across back sts, PM, p across right sleeve sts, PM, p across right front.
Row 2 (RS): *K to 2 sts before marker, k2tog, SM, ssk; rep from * 3 more times, k to end. 8 sts decreased.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 -- 2 (3, 4, 5) more times, slipping the markers as you come to them on WS rows.
Valley Yarns 599 Cordoba Shawl
Rows 27-39 should read as follows:
Row 27: As for Row 25.
Rows 28-29: As for Row 26.

Valley Yarns 590 Eva Vest
Added: Armhole ribbing:
With RS facing and starting in the middle of the bound off sts at the bottom of the armhole, pick up and knit an even number of sts around armhole, picking up 1 st in every st along underarm and 3 sts in every 4 rows along vertical edge. Work in k1, p1 ribbing for 1”. Bind off. Sew side edges of armhole ribbing closed.
Sew in all loose ends and block.
Valley Yarns 586 Seed Plaid Throw
Even though the finished dimensions said 42" long, the pattern itself said to work until piece measures 48". The directions should read:
Repeat Rows 1-42 for 42” or desired length, ending with a Row 42.
Valley Yarns 581 Last Minute Mittens (Free)
Hand Rnd 3 now reads: Rnd 3: K1, m1, k1, m1, k to end. 24 (27, 27) sts
Valley Yarns 576 Knit Lace Jar Covers (Free)
A note has been added after Rnd 13 that reads:
Note: this round is deliberately 2 sts shorter than previous rounds in order for the lace column to work correctly. The marker will return to its original position in Rnd 24.

In the left front, the sentence that reads:

Next row (RS): Knit for 13 (13.75, 13.75, 14.5, 14.5)”, BO 4 sts for buttonhole, k to end.

Continuing to work in stitch pattern, repeat rows 3 and 4 without the kfb at beg and end of the increase row 0 (3, 5, 9) times. 198 (222, 238, 270) sts.

After Row 6 of the Eyelet Section, the pattern should read:
Rep Rows 1-6 for a total of 14 repeats: 223 sts on needle. Knit one row, dec 1 st to 222 sts and remove markers as you come to them.

Finishing: Attach buttons to match buttonholes. Graft underarm sts closed with Kitchener stitch. Sew in all loose ends and block.
Collar directions now read: With smaller needles and RS facing, starting at the beginning of the neck shaping, pick up and knit 5 (6, 7, 8, 9, 10) sts up the right neck edge, knit across the remaining yoke sts, then, pick up and knit 5 (6, 7, 8, 9, 10) sts down the left neck edge. 44 (44, 48, 48, 52, 52) sts. Work even in ribbing for 4” and bind off.

Rows 4 - 19: Repeat Row 3. Place markers in first and last ch4 sps of Row 19. Fasten off. (97ch4 sps)

In the Special Stitches section: "make bobble: (k, p, k, p) into next st, slip 4th, 3rd, 2nd st over first st. 1 st remains." should read: "make bobble: (k, p, k, p) into next st, slip these 4 sts back to the left needle, k4, slip 4th, 3rd, 2nd st over first st. 1 st remains."

The hat directions now read:
Change to largest needles and yellow. Purl 1 row, knit 1 row, purl 1 row.
Row 1 (RS): P1, * LC, RC; rep from *, p1.

Bumblebee Blanket stitch pattern should be a multiple of 8 sts + 4.
Cast on numbers for the blanket should be 156 (180, 204) sts.
In the "Bumblebees" section, Rows 2-4 should read:
