WEBS - America's Yarn Store is seeking to hire an experienced Picker/ Packer with excellent organizational and people skills.

Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Able to lift 50lbs
  • Able to reach, stretch, bend, squat, climb, stoop, lean, kneel and sit.

WEBS Shipping Department functions as a team in every aspect of the word.

There are overtime hours offered in the Shipping Department and it is available to everyone.

Warehouse Associate

WEBS - America's Yarn Store is hiring for an open position in our Warehouse. Applicants should be well organized, have a keen attention to detail, and excellent people skills.

The role includes:

  • Unloading trucks
  • Unpacking and checking in product with packing slips
  • Restocking and reshelving
  • Condensing old stock to make space for new inventory
  • Keeping the warehouse clean, organized and safe
  • Counting inventory

Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Basic math skills
  • Able to use Excel and our inventory management system
  • Experience using order picker/ forklift and electric pallet jack
  • Able to lift up to 75lbs

Retail Store

WEBS America's Yarn Store is growing again! We are looking for experienced knitters, with experience in crochet, weaving and spinning, with a strong retail background work part-time (20 hours per week) in our retail store. WEBS is a demanding, fast-paced, and friendly environment with a knowledgeable staff known for its excellent customer service.

Position requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • exceptional retail sales and customer service skills
  • ability to interpret knitting and crochet patterns to assist our customers with appropriate yarn selections
  • knowledge of various fiber qualities and ability to recommend suitable yarn substitutions when necessary
  • basic computer and math skills
  • ease in working with a computer-based POS system
  • strong background in the fiber arts
  • ability to lift 25 pounds, stand, squat, reach, bend, sit, climb, lean and stand for long periods of time
  • ability to work Saturdays and Thursday evenings
  • access to reliable transportation (WEBS is open during most New England weather conditions).

WEBS is open Monday -Friday 10 - 6:00, Saturday 10 - 5:30, and Thursdays until 8. We offer competitive wages, Simple 401K retirement plan, and 6 paid holidays per year.

String Retail Store Manager

The Retail Store Manager is an integral part of the String and WEBS management team and is responsible for the successful and efficient running of the retail store, supported by the store staff and marketing team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Opening & closing the store including set-up of register drawers
  • Hiring of staff
  • Be a part of the team choosing unique and special product for the store and website
  • Establish schedules to ensure adequate coverage
  • Schedule staff meetings for problem solving, training and team building
  • Prepare & deliver annual reviews
  • Training of both new and existing team members
  • Assisting customers & resolving customer issues
  • Creating a positive and energetic environment for both customers and team members
  • Work with team members to create engaging & eye catching displays
  • Address personnel issues in a timely manner
  • Work with the retail team to develop their core strengths and assign responsibilities as part of their continued development and training
  • Analyze product mix to ensure slower sellers are eliminated from the store
  • Ensure model garments are displayed and rotated
  • Analyze pattern sales to ensure slower sellers are eliminated in the store
  • Oversee in store events
  • Responsible for working with peer managers to coordinate marketing, product, education and events seamlessly.

This is a dynamic position that requires great attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and lead a vibrant team while making sure the customer experience is exceptional.  This position also requires a forward-thing, can-do attitude no matter the situation. The Retail Store Manager is responsible for executing the vision and culture established by the owners.

String is open Monday–Friday 11am–6pm and Saturdays 11am–5pm.
