Design Coordinator

WEBS – America’s Yarn Store is looking for a dynamic, high-energy individual to join our growing team as a full-time (knitting) Design Coordinator. Based in our Northampton, MA location, this person will assist both our in-house Design Manager and our Tahki Stacy Charles line with various tasks related to our internal and external design initiatives. The candidate best suited for this position is a skilled knitter and fast learner who thrives in a growing company and can acclimate to not only a diverse range of tasks but to an evolving business landscape.

The Design Coordinator will handle a variety of responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Ensure all materials for sample knitters & external designers are provided on a timely basis
  • Handle communication with sample knitters & designers regarding submissions, contracts, yarn requirements and status of work
  • Maintain payment standards for outside knitters & designers and make sure they get paid
  • Coordinate all designs and patterns that are required for special events, tradeshows, etc.
  • Contribute ideas for design, yarn selection, etc.
  • Participate in planning and executing of photoshoots including styling, prepping garments, and flow of the shoots
  • Assist with formatting patterns
  • Upload Valley Yarn & Tahki Stacy Charles patterns to Ravelry
  • Assist Managers with tracking yarn usage to ensure yarns and brands are balanced in each issue/catalog

We are looking for someone with the following qualifications:

  • Intermediate or stronger knitting skills
  • Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills are a must
  • Desire to work and grow in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with various online platforms including, Word, Excel, and Publisher
  • Desire to be part of an evolving and growing team in a multi-faceted industry
  • Obsessive attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and in coordination with various team members
  • A willingness to go outside the job description as needed

Order Picker/ Packer

WEBS - America's Yarn Store is seeking to hire an experienced Picker/ Packer with excellent organizational and people skills.

Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Able to lift 50lbs
  • Able to reach, stretch, bend, squat, climb, stoop, lean, kneel and sit.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time in the same place.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Reliable transportation
  • Good attendance

WEBS Shipping Department functions as a team in every aspect of the word.

There are overtime hours offered in the Shipping Department and it is available to everyone.

WEBS always seeks to promote from within. Warehouse Associate

WEBS - America's Yarn Store is hiring for an open position in our Warehouse. Applicants should be well organized, have a keen attention to detail, and excellent people skills.

The role includes:

  • Unloading trucks
  • Unpacking and checking in product with packing slips
  • Restocking and reshelving
  • Condensing old stock to make space for new inventory
  • Keeping the warehouse clean, organized and safe
  • Counting inventory

Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Basic math skills
  • Able to use Excel and our inventory management system
  • Experience using order picker/ forklift and electric pallet jack
  • Able to lift up to 75lbs
  • Able to reach, stretch, bend, squat, climb, stoop, lean, kneel and sit.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time in the same place.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Reliable transportation
  • Good attendance
  • Ability to multitask, work within a group or independently and ability to take direction
