Techniques Used

This cardigan is constructed using the intarsia technique, a color-work method that allows for large, detailed pattern areas using separate yarn lengths for each color section rather than stranding yarn across the back. This technique is particularly effective for creating bold, graphic designs without excessive bulk on the reverse side. The pattern employs stockinette stitch as the primary fabric throughout, providing a smooth, refined finish. The garment is worked in pieces—back, left front, and right front sections—which are later assembled. The construction includes strategic shaping through decreases at the armholes and shaped shoulders to create a fitted silhouette.
