Ann Norling 12 Adult Basic Socks
This pattern is written for three gauges. The length of the foot determines the fit of the sock (9"-13"). For a narrower foot use one needle size smallers. Wool/nylon sock yarn or 100% wool & wool blends that are tightly plyed are recommended. Wool/nylon heel yarn or nylon to knit into the heel can also be used.

This was the pattern I used for mt first pair of socks. I purchased this copy as a gift. My sister in law wanted a pattern for heavy boot socks, and this is it.
