Introducing Ashland Bay's 100% Certified Organic Polwarth Wool Top from the Falkland Islands! This incredibly soft wool was selected from two family farms on the Falkland islands and measures an incredible 22 microns. The fleeces were processed in the UK. Sheep that are raised organically are not subject to mulesing, nor dipped for pesticides. In addition, the number of sheep allowed to graze in any give pasture area is limited to the natural carrying capacity of the land. And as with most wool that comes from the Falklands, Organic Polwarth Top is very white.

Note: Fiber ordered by the ounce may have its quantity adjusted before shipping to reflect its actual net weight.

I am a new spinner and have so much to learn. I am spinning with 2/3rds alpaca and 1/3rd polwarth. It is spinning nicely from the rolags I made using a blending board. It is just grand.

Comments about true Organic Polwarth Top:

I'm just trying this type of wool for the first time. Im going to spin it a medium to light weight 2 ply yarn to knit into a light pullover that does not need a shirt underneath.

this wool is definitely soft enough for next-to-skin wear.
