Product Description
Baju Bakau is an elegant pullover (or tunic) finished with slightly flaring lacy bottom and cuffs, the same lovely lace motif as in the shawls, Bakau and Serangoon. The fit is tailored yet relaxed.
You’ll knit with Åsa Tricosa's seamless topdown Ziggurat method (see overview on the asatricosa webpage
The name is a fond nod to Singapore where Baju Bakau was thought up (as were the Bakau and Serangoon shawls). Baju is Malay for long-sleeved shirt, Bakau is a mangrove – the lace arches are a little like arching mangrove roots.
