What Is Being Made

The Berroco Catskill is an intermediate-level knit sweater designed by the Berroco Design Team. The sweater is designed with 6–10" of positive ease for a comfortable, relaxed fit. The pattern shown is worked in size 42" bust.

Techniques Used

The Catskill employs several key knitting techniques that define its construction:

Materials: Yarn and Needles

The Catskill pattern calls for Berroco Farro yarn in the colorway #6427 Apricot. Berroco Farro is a worsted-weight yarn sold in 50-gram balls. Yardage requirements vary by size, ranging from 6 balls for the smallest size (38" bust) to 12 balls for the largest size (66" bust).

Knitters will need a 29" circular needle in size 6 (4.00 mm) as the primary needle for working the flat pieces. A spare needle of the same size is required for the 3-needle bind-off technique used to join shoulders. The pattern also calls for 4 stitch holders and 2 stitch markers to manage stitches during construction.
