I knit a pair of socks using Pearl-McPhee's "A Good Plain Sock" pattern, they came out awesome and made a pair of simple socks into a pair of very fancy and colorful socks.I definitely am getting more of this yarn in some more colors. You can work a pair of very easy socks up in no time and they look like you are a master at patterned color knitting.Even though these are superwash they have nice old-fashioned wooly feel to them. I used colorway "Dundee" for my socks.

i read all the reviews about this yarn and since they were all positive I purchased the lollipop. I even waited for it since it was on backorder. When I started to knit with it the colors bled into each other. I thought maybe it was just at the beginning of the skein. But no it is all the way through. Berroco is a very good product so I assume it was just this particular dye lot. So beware of dye lot 2667 color1410! This won"t prevent me from purchasing this yarn, it was just a bad batch.

Comments about true Sox:

Using Berroco Sox color #1425 to knit top-down, one-piece, raglan sleeves sweater for my toddler grandson on nickel-plated circular needles, size 4. This Stockinette stitch is working up SO fast that I'll have it done WAY sooner than I thought and will have to come up with next project right away! The self-striping is stately. The colors are rich. The whole look is very interesting and I am certain will be quite striking on our little fella. The only concern I have is that the texture of the yarn is a bit stiffer than I desire for a sweater - something against the skin. For a garment for a child, maybe a softer yarn would be preferred - HOWEVER this color and striping is SO lovely, it is worth the effort to knit up a sweater! Godspeed.

I've used Berroco Sox for years and the first pair of socks I ever knit with it are just as bright as the pair I'm knitting now. There is a good selection of colors, suitable for both men and women. Love this yarn!

This is the BEST sock yarn, launders well. Wears like iron, tho socks are soft. The socks hold their shape. I would guess that over the last 5 years, since I learned to make socks, I have made 200 pair.

      Comments about true Sox:

Be careful. Consistently short-weighted, have seen 3 knots in a ball, knots cause a big skip in the colorway; an excellent yarn in a careless put-up. If you want to match stripes inspect balls VERY carefully before you begin.

          Comments about true Sox:

The wool was a little coarser than I usually use for socks, but knitting with it was fun and my feet didn't register coarseness. They stripe unexpectedly (but evenly), so you never know what's coming next--you just watch it pattern all by itself. I use sock knitting as a release after having finished something difficult and this was the release of doing something easy and having fun at the same time--stockinette is usually boring for me, but not with this yarn.

            Comments about true Sox:

machine washable and dryable, within reason. Husband is particularly fond of the softness and stretchiness of socks made with this yarn. Ball weight is reliably 98 g, not 100, but yardage is plenty for a pair of men's socks.
