Not as chunky as expected
The main problem is it’s not chunky. It’s basically the weight of worsted or what worse it used to be. When I buy Valley Chunky, it’s really heavyweight and chunky, but Berroco is not. I realize that all the weights are lighter now and nothing is like it used to be when you buy yarn, but when you call it an ultra chunky, it should’ve been heavier. Of course, I had to recalculate my stitches per inch and I didn’t get the look I was intending with a bulky yarn. It looked like worsted weight.

Yarn thickness can vary slightly between brands, even within the same weight category. The best way to compare yarns is to check the recommended gauge, needle size, and meterage listed on the ball band or product page.
