Berroco Ultra Alpaca Yarn - Alpaca Worsted

I called to talk to the employees before I ordered, as I had never knitted with Alpaca yarn, then when I got the yarn it was in Hanks and Skeins is all I had used, they were very helpful to me with both concerns. I’ve worked with Ultra Alpaca many times over the years. It occupies a space between ordinary and luxe: there’s nothing showy about it, but it’s soft and has a slight halo because of the alpaca. Also, the colors are pleasing to me, while the colors of many other yarns seem harsh or lacking in subtlety. Ultra Alpaca is one of my go-to yarns.

A nice firm yarn with a rich dye and a soft feel. No pilling or splitting. I made a shawl with this alpaca several years ago and it still looks great. Highly recommended!

I ordered some yarn to complete a sweater. I love working with this yarn. I'm doing a Fisherman's pattern and it holds the definition of the stitches very well. The dye lot was not the same, however the color is extremely close and I know it will work out well.

I use Berroco Ultra Alpaca for sweaters. It’s soft enough to wear right next to my skin, and it comes in many, many colors. I especially like it for stranded yoke sweaters.
