100% of CAMPFIRE pattern sales during the month of May will be donated to Vinalhaven Community Outreach, a non-profit organization supporting the needs of individuals on the island of Vinalhaven, Maine.
CAMPFIRE is a traditional triangle shawl knit in the most wonderful cashgora fiber (crossbreed of Angora (mohair) and cashmere-producing goats), Cashmere People Yarns. Ethically sourced and environmentally conscious, Cashmere People’s Yarns are handspun and hand-dyed by women in Afghanistan and Tajikistan -- each label carries a photograph and name of the woman who produced your skein. Then the yarn is marketed in the United States by PortFiber.
As much as I wish that I could wear my CAMPFIRE at the retreat this summer, I am so pleased to be able to support my lovely island, Vinalhavne and Casey and the women of Cashmere People Yarns.
