Product Details
Cascade Yarns Cantata has an interesting construction of a cotton tube with superwash Merino wool fibers blown inside. The tube construction makes the yarn airy and lofty, and the fiber content works great for transitional sweaters. Textured stitches and cables will pop with Cantata.

Have used this yarn for cowls & shawls. The blend of cotton and wool makes for a fabric that is soft and comfortable against skin. I keep this yarn on hand for a quick cowl knit.
I am making a cabled sweater out of this yarn. It is soft and lofty. The cables are very nice.
Such a nice, soft quality yarn.
I loved using Cantata. The tubular construction made this (mostly) cotton yarn so soft and squishy, and I love how the white tubing with the dyed wool filling create a marled look. Honestly it was just so much fun to knit up.
It is a lovely yarn to work with. I used it in a knitted mosaic bag where the straps and top/bottom borders are done with needles much smaller than normal and I had very little problems. Now, I have to admit that I sometimes had a splitting issue - the yarn is a woven mix of the cotton and wool. But if you pay attention and don't knit when you are half asleep, you will be fine. My only issue is that the maroon wasn't solid maroon so the contrast between ballet slipper and maroon is not as distinct in the mosaic. (Sorry for picture quality - it isn't blocked yet)
Loved it...made a color-blocked Sophie Shawl...squishy & delightful!
I was lucky to find the matching color if not the dye lot. The service was great!
I've used Cantata for a couple of projects and really like it. It has a sweatshirt-y look and feel, so I think it's best for casual objects such as big cozy pullovers, blankets, oversize wrap cardigans, etc. But it's pretty sturdy and holds up well. It would be great if it came in more saturated colors!
Beautiful yarn. Haven't knit it up yet but color is very rich, feels very soft and cushy and looks like it'll be fun to knit.
This is an interesting yarn at an affordable price point. It's soft and has good drape. Lots of mileage, the stitch definition is great, and the overall effect is a distressed look. I like a firmer fabric, so using US 7 needles instead of the recommended US 9.
