Great yarn for intricate projects

I'm knitting a baby blanket that has an intricate border. This yarn has very good definition and is easy to work with. I have not had a problem with splitting. I have had difficulty with the pattern and have had to restart and pull out rows, and the yarn has not only survived, but has not shown any wear and tear. The blanket will need blocking for the border to look its best. I think I will have yarn left over. I would definitely buy it again.

Warm and durable sock yarn

This is the broken seed pattern I found on Ravelry. I usually use Heritage or Cascade Fingering weight yarn. They are both reasonably priced. I combine them with a variegated yarn which makes for an interesting design pattern. The trick is to knit with a zero or number one size needles so the design is more pronounced. Additionally, when a lace weight with mohair and silk is on sale, I will knit up a vanilla sock pattern on number three needles using the Heritage or Cascade fingering weight...

My go to yarn

I've been using Cascade Heritage for almost everything I knit for several years now. The yarn is durable, doesn't pill too badly, and is soft to wear and easy on my hands while I knit. It's an excellent value yarn, and when there are the occasional sale, I stock up.

Great yarn at a great price.

The socks I make with Heritage yarn are long lasting. I have worn them for years and still have no holes. The yarn feels soft and is easy to knit with. It doesn’t split.

Soft but difficult to work with

The yarn was very soft and fluffy, and the colors were accurate. However, it fuzzes and pills up very quickly when knitting with it, which made it difficult to read my stitches and made my working yarn stick together a lot. I was knitting a double-knit scarf, but I only got 4 rows in before I had to stop and choose a different yarn.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the softness of the yarn and found the colors accurate, although we’re sorry to hear that the fuzzing and pilling made the yarn difficult to work with. For a yarn that is prone to fuzzing, using smooth, sharp-tipped needles and keeping a slightly more relaxed tension may help reduce friction while knitting. It can also help to avoid repeatedly pulling back and reworking the same stitches, as this can increase fuzzing. We’re sorry this yarn didn’t work well for your double-knitting project. If you have any questions or need any assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Colors depicted on website are very far off from actual. I wanted a soft pink orange like melon colored yarn and got dayglo orange. Might come in handy if I ever go hunting, haha. I also ordered some amber colored mohair and gor bright dayglo orange mohair. Where do they find these colors?

I love the perfect color match. Winding was smooth—no glitches. I would purchase again for heel toes of socks.

5 Stars

I just finished knitting a pair of socks for a friend, using Cascade Yarns Heritage Sock yarn. I used size 1 needles and got a blocked gauge of 8 stitches per inch. The yarn has a high twist and is easy to knit with, hardly any splitting at all. It seems like a very sturdy yarn, but after I soaked and blocked it, it has a nice soft feel. I'm very pleased with it. Also, it's reasonably priced.
